Entering 2025, PT. Swarnadwipa Dermaga Jaya (SDJ), a business entity under TITAN Infra Sejahtera, once again held the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Month. This event, which took place from January 12 to February 12, 2025, is a manifestation of the company's commitment to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders, from employees, contractors, vendors, to work partners throughout the operational areas. TITAN Infra Sejahtera asserts that OSH is not merely a regulatory obligation, but a long-term investment to create a safe, healthy, and productive work environment for all parties.

2025 OSH Theme: Superior HR as the Key to Productivity

Carrying the theme "Strengthening Human Resource Capacity in Supporting the Implementation of the OSH Management System (SMK3) to Increase Productivity," this year's OSH Month emphasizes the importance of enhancing worker competence as the foundation for the successful implementation of SMK3. According to an official statement from TITAN management, trained and highly safety-conscious HR not only reduces the risk of work accidents but also drives operational efficiency.

"When workers feel safe and protected, their motivation and productivity will naturally increase. This aligns with our vision to build a sustainable industrial ecosystem," said a representative from TITAN Infra Sejahtera. This message was reinforced by Muhammad Salim Wantapao, the Inspector of Ceremony at the event's opening, who stated that the strong implementation of OSH norms is the foundation for worker welfare and business continuity.

"A safe work environment is not just about compliance with procedures but also building a culture where every individual feels responsible for protecting each other," emphasized Salim. This philosophy is in line with TITAN's core values, which place safety as a priority in every company operation.

Adapting to Industry Dynamics: Digitalization and Innovation

Although OSH Month has become an annual agenda, TITAN Infra Sejahtera asserts that 2025 is a critical moment to evaluate OSH strategies in line with changes in government policies, technological developments, and increasingly competitive market demands. "We don't want this activity to be merely ceremonial. This is an opportunity to reflect on achievements, identify gaps, and design progressive steps," added Salim.

One of the breakthroughs presented is digital-based training to enhance worker understanding of SMK3. Through a dedicated e-learning platform, employees can access materials related to emergency procedures, heavy equipment handling, and fire risk mitigation. This approach is considered effective given TITAN's wide and diverse work location distribution, from ports, logistics, to energy infrastructure.

"Digital training allows workers in remote areas to still receive quality education without being constrained by distance. This is a form of our adaptation to the era of technological transformation," explained the Manager of TITAN's Human Capital Division.

Blood Donation: Social Contribution and Health Education

As part of the 2025 National OSH Month series, PT. SDJ, in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir Regency (PALI), organized a blood donation event on January 13, 2025, at the SDJ Office. This event not only aimed to support national blood stocks but also to educate workers about the importance of maintaining personal health as an integral part of OSH awareness.

Dr. Chindy Tri Andini, a representative of PMI PALI Regency, explained that blood donation is a symbol of social concern and a means of early detection of potential diseases. "In addition to saving lives, blood donation also provides health benefits for participants, such as free blood pressure and hemoglobin checks," she said.

Participant enthusiasm was reflected in the number of registrants reaching 200 people, exceeding the initial target of 150 blood bags. "This proves that the spirit of mutual cooperation still flows in the company's DNA," said the HR Manager of PT. SDJ. The collected blood will be distributed to hospitals and health centers in the PALI region to support emergency needs.

OSH as a Strategic Investment: Achievements and Challenges

For TITAN Infra Sejahtera, commitment to OSH has yielded significant results. In the last three years, the company has successfully reduced the work accident rate by 30% thanks to the consistent implementation of SMK3. This achievement is supported by a special budget allocation for training, safety equipment maintenance, and worker protection innovation research.

"Every incident can be prevented through a mature system and competent HR. Therefore, we encourage active participation from all parties in reporting potential hazards, no matter how small," emphasized a representative from TITAN's HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Division. To facilitate this, the company launched a digital reporting application that allows workers to provide input in real-time.

However, challenges remain. One of them is maintaining consistency in OSH awareness amidst operational complexity. "It's not easy to change the mindset of workers who are accustomed to old methods. This is where the role of continuous training and a humanistic approach becomes key," said Salim.

Multidimensional Collaboration: Safety Ownership and Open Dialogue

The success of 2025 OSH Month is not only measured by a series of events but also by the extent to which OSH values are embedded in the work culture. To that end, TITAN echoes the concept of "Safety Ownership," where every individual feels a collective responsibility to create a safe work environment.

This campaign is reinforced through inter-division safety innovation competitions, which encourage workers to create creative solutions related to OSH. For example, the port operations team designed an IoT-based gas leak detection tool, while the logistics division developed an automatic vehicle temperature checking system.

In addition, the company holds discussion forums between management, contractors, and labor unions to align OSH policies with field needs. "This open dialogue helps us understand the technical obstacles faced by work partners and find joint solutions," said Salim.

Global Reflection: Safety as a Fundamental Right

Quoting the statement of Sir Brian Appleton, an industrial safety expert from England, TITAN reminds that safety is a matter of life and death. "Our contribution to safety management determines whether our colleagues will return home safely or not," said Appleton in a quote raised by TITAN.

This statement emphasizes that safety is not only the company's responsibility but also a fundamental right of workers that cannot be compromised. "We are committed to ensuring that every employee returns home to their family in good health," emphasized the management.

Toward a Sustainable Future

In closing, TITAN Infra Sejahtera hopes that the momentum of 2025 OSH Month can be a catalyst for the transformation of safety culture at the national level. By strengthening HR capacity, the company is optimistic that it can increase industrial productivity while reducing work accident rates in Indonesia.

"We invite all stakeholders to make OSH a lifestyle, not just an obligation. Together, we can realize a more prosperous Indonesia," concluded TITAN management.

Through inter-sector synergy, technological innovation, and sustainable commitment, TITAN Infra Sejahtera proves that investing in OSH not only supports business but also leaves a positive legacy for society and the nation. This step is tangible proof that safety and productivity are two inseparable sides of the same coin.
