Muara Enim – The Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, has expressed his appreciation for the construction of the KM 111 Flyover carried out by PT Servo Lintas Raya, a subsidiary of PT Titan Infra Sejahtera, as an effort to support government policies on regulating coal transportation so that it no longer passes through public roads.

According to Herman Deru, the construction of the flyover represents the company’s commitment to implementing the Governor’s Instruction regarding the mandatory use of special roads for coal transportation. He views this initiative as a concrete solution to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, and minimize social impacts on the community.

“This is a positive action in response to the Governor’s Instruction. With the existence of special roads, coal transportation to Palembang can be stopped from using public roads,” said Herman Deru.

He explained that since the enactment of Governor Regulation Number 74 of 2018, the regulation of coal transportation has continued to face various challenges. However, with the development of integrated hauling roads and flyovers, the benefits are now beginning to be felt by various stakeholders.

Herman Deru hopes that the construction of the KM 111 Flyover can serve as an example for other companies in creating investments that are oriented toward the interests of the community and the region. He emphasized that coal transportation must use special roads without compromise, while still allowing limited tolerance during the transition period.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Servo Lintas Raya, Victor Budi Tanuadji, stated the company’s full support for the policies of the South Sumatra Provincial Government. He emphasized that the flyover, approximately 400 meters in length and 11 meters wide, was built exclusively for coal transportation and is not intended for public traffic.

“With this flyover, hauling activities can operate 24 hours a day without disturbing the community,” Victor said.

The KM 111 Flyover was constructed over a period of approximately 12 months with an investment value of more than IDR 150 billion and is connected to a hauling road system and a port with a capacity of up to 35 million tons per year.

Victor added that the existence of the hauling road has a positive impact on the community by improving safety on public roads and opening up new economic opportunities for local residents. “Around 15 Mining Business Permit (IUP) holders will utilize this route and will no longer use public roads,” Victor stated.

Although the policy to stop coal transportation on public roads has a significant impact on company operations, PT Servo Lintas Raya remains optimistic that the best solutions can be achieved through synergy between the government, companies, and the community.
